Accountant

Large Utility Company | Allentown, PA


Long-Term Temporary | Approximately 9 Months | Potential to Extend or Become Permanent

Ready for your next accounting opportunity? HTSS is hiring an Accountant to support a large utility company headquartered in Allentown, PA. This is a fully remote, long-term assignment with the potential for extension or permanent hire.

 

Candidates must live within a commutable distance of Allentown, PA.

 

What You'll Do

  • Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger

  • Analyze financial data and prepare financial reports

  • Perform account reconciliations and accounting analyses

  • Support internal controls and process improvements

  • Research accounting guidance and document findings

  • Partner with internal teams to solve accounting issues

  • Provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business (with accounting coursework)

  • 3-5+ years of accounting experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience (2-4 years required)

  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliations

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

 

Preferred

  • CPA or CMA

  • Utility industry, public accounting, or SEC reporting experience

  • Knowledge of SOX requirements
