Our client is currently seeking a talented and experienced Purchasing Manager to join their team and contribute to our continued success.

Position Overview:
The Purchasing Manager will oversee the procurement of goods and services, manage supplier relationships, and ensure that purchasing activities align with the company’s operational goals and budget. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to optimizing cost and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet organizational goals.

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.

  • Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure quality, delivery, and compliance.

  • Evaluate and select vendors based on price, quality, and reliability.

  • Oversee inventory control and ensure timely availability of materials.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand and fulfill purchasing needs.

  • Analyze market trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.

  • Prepare and manage budgets for procurement activities.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

 

Core Competencies:

  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.

  • Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.

  • Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.

  • Negotiate, or renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.

  • Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of problems trace shipments and follow up undelivered goods.

  • Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.

 

Salary: $55-75K, based on experience
